Wall Mounted Wine Rack that is made by using an old kitchen cabinet. You can use your own old cabinet or you can purchase one at a garage sale.
If there is a house in your neighborhood that is
being remodeled then you might just ask what the yare doing with the old cabinets.
They may be happy to allow you to take them off of your hands. If you want the door to close then the cabinet should be atleast 20" deep.
Simple Steps to Creating Your Own Wall Mounted Wine Rack
- Start by taking the door off of the cabinet. It is also important that you take any shelves and brackets out of the cabinet.
- You will need to measure the height of the cabinet to determine how many shelves it should have. You will want to have one shelf for every 10" of space. This will allow for maximum air flow.
- Using a saw and a 1x6 board, cut shelves for your Wall Mounted Wine Rack. You will need to make a front and back for each shelf. So if you are going to have 4 shelves, you will need to cut 8 boards the width of your cabinet.
- To create the neck holders you will need to drill 1" holes in the center of the board. You will need to determine how many wine bottles will fit across the width of your cabinet. This is the number of holes you want to drill. Once you have finished, cut the board in half vertically. You will now have indentations for the necks of your wine bottles. You will want to use these shelves for the front of your Wall Mounted Wine Rack.
- You need to repeat step 4 for the rear shelves. This time use a 4" hole cutter. These shelves will go in the back of your rack.
- Sand your shelves to smooth the edges.
- Finish the shelves and the cabinet using a paint or stain and liquor.
- Once your paint or stain is dry it is time to assemble the Wall Mounted Wine Rack. Use brackets to mount the shelves in the front and in the back of your cabinet. Make sure you measure 10" in between each one.
- Once everything is in place you will be able to mount your wine rack on the wall. In order to do this you will need to find the studs in your wall. You will also need to obtain a cabinet mounting kit from your local hardware store. Follow the directions in the kit to mount your cabinet to the wall.
Once you have finished your Wall Mounted Wine Rack and it is mounted on the wall, it is time to fill it up. Pick your favorite bottles of wine to display in your
masterpiece! Your friends will be impressed with your craftsmanship and you will feel proud of yourself!
Pretty soon everyone will be asking how you madesuch
